Marti began her musical journey at a very early age, writing her first song when she was just three years old. "There wasn't much of a plot," she laughs. "It was about a puppy, and a kitten. Imagine that," she giggles. "Me, writing about animals."

Marti and her husband share their home with no less than eight animals - five cats, two dogs, and a bunny. "Husband swears he'll strangle me if I bring home another animal, but the truth is - we have a few of these beasts because of him! He loves them just as much as I do. I wouldn't have married him if he didn't have a fuzzy heart."

Marti is a self-professed sci-fi geek and loves books, movies, and video games. "We're both just big kids," she says. "We have more toys in our home than our friends with kids do."

I asked her what the name of the song was that she wrote when she was three. "I called it Where Are You Going?" she said. "In the song, I asked the puppy where he was going, then the kitten, then they asked me. The answer was always the same - out to play." She grins. "I guess that's still my life - puppies and kittens and me still playing. I'm still having fun."
